Revitalising IOCs
When an IOC has been operated for a period, its value can begin to tail off dramatically. Although it may still fulfil its initial purpose effectively it is failing to drive ongoing innovation and desired operational transformation. The IOC has become stale; from a lack of flexibility or appropriate governance.
Epsis has a design methodology for delivering new IOCs that can be equally applied to existing ones to refresh their capability, purpose and value. The Epsis focus on the Ways of Working allows the existing facility to be evolved in place to ensure a new culture of continuous improvement is established and maintained. Ripping out and replacing your earlier investment is rarely required; instead we usually propose utilising the technology you already have more effectively alongside simple tweaks to the physical environment to provide greater agility and flexibility moving forward.
Alongside these physical improvements we often make changes to the governance model and lifecycle model of work processes taking place within the IOC. Additionally, improving the touch points in the wider business and allowing the IOC’s innovative work practices to proliferate across this wider community is essential to enact genuine cultural change.
