Sustainability in Epsis
It is a big word that it is so important to put action behind.
Many people talk about how we can do something about this in the workplace. And whether small measures at all can have any significance. What results can we really contribute to?
«At Epsis, we believe that you can work with anywhere from anywhere. We believe change offers opportunities. And we believe that many small changes bring great results. We want to do what we can to reduce the climate impact both internally and when we work on projects with customers.»
Sustainability Officer at Epsis
Our goals
We want to contribute to making a difference, and we can only do this by having high ambitions and clear goals. We work for a sustainable workplace for ourselves and our customers. In 2019, we moved into a Breem building at Flesland in Bergen as part of this commitment. About 40% of our employees have changed to electrical cars. Half of the year, 40% of us use bicycle to work. We have 66% laptops that are more than 80% more energy efficient than desktop computers. During the pandemic, we changed our business model from delivering projects with Epsis personnel at clients’ site to working “remotely“. We are on a journey with our customers and this provides incredibly exciting, new ways of working.

We have set the following goals for 2022:
Epsis’s infrastructure will be 100% cloud-based
Our project deliveries will be sustainably produced
All our projects will contribute to C02 reduction for our customers
1. 100% cloud-based infrastructure by the end of 2022
This means that all our systems incl. printers and other hardware are run via cloud solutions. As a result, we can more easily work with anything from anywhere. This contributes to increased safety and it has reduces the C02 emissions we originally had by 90%**.

2. Digital deliveries <10% travel
We work on projects nationally and internationally. Our contracts include a clause where we deliver the projects without physical presence and with minimal travel. This results in us having to actively utilize technological aids in order to be able to collaborate as efficiently as possible, and this requires forward-thinking and courageous customers.
3. CO2 reduction on the equivalent of 15 households' consumption across customers.
Together we will acheive this by creating solutions that result in
a. Reduced double storage
b. Reduced number of attachments
c. Reduced emails
d. Increased usage of cloud solutions
e. Reduces energy usage – Shutting down the PC
f. Better utilization of existing equipment / systems
How do we reach our goals?
One of our most important values is that we should be a company with integrity – and this means that we keep our promises. We work actively every day to find solutions that can make tomorrow’s work better.
We choose to be clear with our goals, transparent on the results and expect that we will meet customers who will challenge these even more, – We look forward to being challanged.
